Artists Embassy International and Betty Wong presents:
Sound of the Earth Turning

A concert to celebrate the local premiere of “Sound of the Earth Turning”,
a music video dedicated to the desert cultures of the world including
a musical journey through Turko-Muslim Asia. Featuring live, original
improvisations by Arabic percussionist Mary Ellen Donald and
Phoenix Spring Ensemble, and Indo-Bali jazz and fusion with
Mindia Devi Ensemble. This event is dedicated to the legacy of
local visionaries Althea Youngman, founder of Artists Embassy
International, and Mimi Spencer Al-Khayyam, Kanun virtuoso
and founder of Near Eastern Music West, Inc. CD recordings
by artists and a video of the Silk Road Festival 2004 will also
be available for sale at this event.
